Akwa Ibom Deputy Speaker denies defection rumour
The quality attention of the Deputy Speaker and Member Representing Okobo State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey, has been drawn to a jaundiced post and sponsored blackmail by some faceless politicians in Okobo Local Government Area on the facebook page of one Aniebiet Antia , claiming that the Deputy Speaker has defected to APC today.
The said post by Aniebiet Antia is an outright falsehood aimed at misleading the unsuspecting Members of the public, and creating unnecessary tension in the United family Members of Peoples Democratic Party in Okobo Local Government Area in particular and Akwa Ibom State in general.
It is quite unfortunate that a young chap like Aniebiet Antia who is not an indigene of any of the the Local Government Areas in Oro Nation has allowed himself to be used as a cheap agent of blackmail and character assassination by some frustrated individuals who are bent on taking their political irrelevance, woes and frustration to the doorstep of responsible and consistent politician like Rt. Hon. Princess Felicia Bassey.
The rumour that the Akwa Ibom State Deputy Speaker has defected to APC today only exists in the mind of Aniebiet Antia because the two major occasions the deputy Speaker attended today are: The Monthly Government House Prayer Meeting and the Burial ceremony of a formal President General of Oron Union, Barr Okon Daniel Okon in Oron Township Stadium.
Aniebiet Antia should be ready to produce evidence of the Deputy Speaker's defection, the venue and the type of occasion where the deputy Speaker defected today or be ready for full interrogation by relevant security agencies and the Court of Law.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Deputy Speaker is a loyal and committed Stakeholder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and still remains uncompromising and focused on mobilizing support within and outside her immediate constituency for the reelection of His Excellency, Gov. Udom Emmanuel.
However, because Aniebiet Antia has chosen the uncontrollable liberty of the social media to satisfy his wishes and paymasters which is nothing but an insult on Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey.
He must only be warned to stop assaulting the integrity and intelligence of the loyalists and supporters of Gov. Udom Emmanuel, the Deputy Speaker and the PDP with a clear sense of purpose and direction.
It is however not surprising that Aniebiet Antia and his Co- travellers have resorted to blackmail of this cheap methodology out of envy and fear of the increased momentum the PDP is gathering in all nooks and crannies of Okobo Local Government Area in appreciation and demonstration of loyalty and love for His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
Those who are threatened by the popularity and general acceptability of the aspiration of the deputy Speaker in the soon to be conducted PDP Primaries and have already seen their failure, should not see blackmail as option B Because everyone in Okobo knows that the Party Structure in Okobo is in the favour of the Deputy Speaker.
Supporters of the Deputy Speaker and the general public are by this notice advised to throw Aniebiet's trash into the dustbin.
