Apostolic Church Nigeria Extols Governor Emmanuel's Feat Against Terrorism
The leadership of The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN) has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State for the relative peace and human capacity development currently enjoyed in the state.
They passed the commendation on Saturday during the 5-day citywide crusade organized by the church with the theme: “Dry Bones Shall Live” (Ezekiel 37:5), which commenced on Wednesday, 10 October over Sunday, 14 October at the Uyo Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom State.
Pastor S. E. Igwe, National President of TACN, while presenting a plaque to the Governor, expressed appreciation to him for releasing the stadium for the church to hold the crusade, and the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed throughout the event.
According to him, the peaceful atmosphere can be traced to the Governor’s fight against terrorism in the state which has yielded tremendous results especially in Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo Local Government Areas of the state, where some cult members recently surrendered their weapons and embraced peace.
Governor Emmanuel, in his address, noted that the choice of Akwa Ibom State for the crusade was never an accident but a divine arrangement, adding that what is happening in the State is about a manifestation of a divine rule.
Earlier in his message titled "From The Right Hand Of Satan To The Right Hand Of God" taken from Acts 9:20-22, the National Evangelist of TACN, Pastor M. A. Oke, emphasized that the only way to end terrorism in any society, is to lead the terrorists to God, and that if a persecutor who has been sitting at the right hand of Satan is shown the way of salvation, he will stop his evil acts.
According to him, being at the right hand of someone has to do with closeness between the two parties. “It means you have strong intimacy with the person, and the person loves you to the extent that he gives you power to do anything. Being at the right hand of Satan means that you have become an ambassador for Satan. It means you are a personal aide to Satan perpetuating his deeds.”
Speaking further, Pastor Oke enumerated those who sit at the right hand of Satan to include blasphemers, persecutors, injurious people, cultists, thieves, ritualists, terrorists, fraudsters, and assassins among other idolatrous acts.
However, some youths heeded to the alter call and denounced their membership in the various cult groups and embraced salvation, as they surrendered their weapons including charms and other fetish items.
Prior to this, wife of the Governor, Martha Udom Emmanuel, donated a Bible to one of the repentant cult members, and the Governor pledged to make available Bibles for all those who have turned a new leaf and embraced Christ.
A book titled "The Anointing And The Anointed", was also presented to Governor Emmanuel by the National Evangelist, Pastor M. A. Oke, and a prayer offered for him for a successful administration.
