Governor Udom nominates Akpabio, Raphael Bassey, Sunny Ibuot, Udo Ekpenyong for Commissioner
Governor Udom Emmanuel has nominated Prince Akpabio, the cousin of Godswill Akpabio, an embattled former governor of the state for the office of commissioner.
Others on the list of commissioner nominees are Udo Ekpenyong, Uno Etim Uno, and Otuekong Raphael Bassey. Sunday Ekanem Ibuot is nominated for special adviser.
The governor in a letter solicits the support of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly for the appointment.
Receiving the message, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Barr. Onofiok Luke, directed the House Committee on Justice, Judiciary, Human Rights and Public Petitions to screen the nominees and report back to the Assembly in the next 72 hours.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the House Committee on Justice, Judiciary and Public Petitions, Barr. Aniefiok Dennis has invited the nominees to appear before the committee today at the Assembly complex by 4pm for screening.
The House will reconvene tomorrow, Friday
